The host university must have a contract with us for the BIP program. You will find them marked "BIP - yes" in the list of partner universities.
Scholarship
It is paid from the Erasmus+ program and consists of a daily stipend based on the length of stay and a one-time travel allowance. You can find more information at this link.
Application
You apply for BIP not only at the host university, but you will also need the approval of the University of Chemistry and Technology. Before you apply for BIP at the host university, write to Outgoing@vscht.cz . Anytime. We do not currently impose any restrictions on application deadlines. If we approve BIP as a possibility for you, you can submit your application.
Applications are submitted online only, and you will need the following to submit your application:
- Application Form
- Learning Agreement Before Mobility for Studies (LABM) - used to arrange the course you will complete by participating in BIP
- Language Certificate - does not apply for those, who study in English at UCT Prague
Get everything ready and have it signed. If you are unsure or do not have a language certificate, read on. You can find the documents for download at the bottom of the page.
If you study in English here at UCT Prague, you do not need the language certificate for UCT Prague application process.
But defintely check, if you dont need one for the host institution.
Check the conditions for recognition (validity) of the language certificate and the minimum level of knowledge according to the rules of your future host university. If they have no restrictions, level B2 is sufficient for your application.
- We do not limit the age of certificates for applications. If you have an older certificate and want to improve your rating, take a test at the Language Institute.
- If you do not have a recognized language certificate (TOEFL, FCE, CAE, etc.), you can also take a test at the Language Institute. You can register by emailing the specific teacher. Tests take place during the consultation hours of the selected teacher. You can arrange a specific date by email.
Master's and bachelor's students must fulfill their study obligations by going abroad.
To record the agreement on course recognition, fill out the Learning Agreement for Studies - Before the Mobility document.
Fill in all the white fields and sign it yourself and have the faculty coordinator sign it (see the LABM comments). You will collect the other signatures after your trip has been approved.
The subject of study abroad in Table A is the name of the BIP, and the subject recognized in Table B will be as agreed with the dean's office. E.g., Foreign Internship or Professional Practice.
- Important - the recognized subject must be worth at least 3 ECTS!
Approval of the trip – what to arrange before departure?
Has your trip to BIP been approved, along with your scholarship? Congratulations! Now you need to take care of a few formalities.
OLA
Fill out and submit the Online Learning Agreement (OLA) in the system for signature. It will be shared with us and the host university via the EWP platform.
The responsible person is Lenka Polanská, you can leave the contact person blank. Ask the host university's international office for instructions on who to fill in.
Insurance
You must arrange travel insurance for the entire duration of your stay. Unfortunately, the EHIC European insurance card does NOT provide sufficient coverage of expenses and adequate services for travel abroad. A copy of the insurance contract is attached to the Participation Agreement and must be submitted to the international office.
Travel and accommodation
You are fully responsible for arranging your travel and accommodation at your destination. Please note that the financial support for mobility that you receive from the school is a fixed amount based only on the destination and length of stay and does not change depending on the amount of your travel and accommodation costs.
- Always check with the hosting university and their International Relation Office if teh yhave any suggestion where to search for accomodation.
Participation Agreement
The International Office will prepare a participation agreement, or financial agreement, for you. Once you have all the necessary documents ready, upload them and answer the questions in this form:
- Once you have submitted the form, write to outgoing@vscht.cz and make an appointment to sign the participation agreement. You must still have at least 10 working days left before your departure!
- Insurance (copy of insurance policy) proving that you are insured for the entire duration of your stay.
- LABM signed by all parties on behalf of the University of Chemistry and Technology.
- OLA electronically signed by all parties involved.
- EUR account details (bank name, BIC/SWIFT, IBAN)
- Physical mobility dates (the first and last days of mobility are the days when teaching on site begins and ends).
What are your obligations after returning?
Submit the following documents to the Dean's Office and the International Office no later than 14 days after your return or after the end of the virtual component (if applicable), and fill out the questionnaire:
- Confirmation of Stay (CoS) - If possible, do not leave the on-site part without a CoS confirmation (it can also be the organizer's own form) signed by the local Erasmus coordinator or BIP coordinator. You must submit the original version of this document to the International Office. If needed, download the form at the bottom of the page.
- Confirmation of Completion - there is no template for this document; it will be issued by the organizer based on your successful completion of the course. It may take the form of a transcript. It confirms that you have successfully earned 3 ECTS credits.
- Recognition of the chosen course in SIS. Ask the deans office to do it for you with both certificates mentioned above and your LABM, where the recognition was pre-agreed.
- EU survey - this is a mandatory questionnaire sent to you by the European Commission. The questionnaire also includes a list of recognized subjects. If you do not yet have the data to fill in the questionnaire, leave it blank and you will be reminded in 45 days. Check your spam folder. The invitation to complete the questionnaire often ends here.
If you are unable to obtain a signature on a paper CoS, ask your coordinator to send you the CoS by email and a copy directly to outgoing@vscht.cz. Only then can the confirmation sent by email be considered an original.
