Green Erasmus
Support for more environmentally friendly travel
If you are going on Erasmus, you can receive a higher contribution towards your travel expenses if you use environmentally friendly means of transport. For more information, see the "travel expenses" table in the scholarship overview.
Traveling green means traveling to your destination by train, bus, or shared car (used by two or more participants) instead of by plane. You should always choose this mode of transport for distances up to 500 km.
- Help reduce your carbon footprint when traveling!
The aim of the GREEN ERASMUS+ concept is to improve the environmental sustainability of the Erasmus+ program and at the same time contribute to increasing environmentally responsible behavior throughout Europe.
Other goals of GREEN ERASMUS+ are:
- To reduce the negative impact of the Erasmus+ program on the environment.
- To raise awareness throughout the European higher education sector of the importance of sustainable internationalization.
- To enable student organizations to become agents of change and strive for improvement in the area of environmental sustainability.
